Who wanted this? Might as well have adopted DPRK rules. The minus points for missed FTs is a great idea actually.
An event they should add is a long-range shooting contest. Within a certain amount of time, start at the free-throw line then progressively move farther from the hoop when the player hits a shot from each spot. I would just do it in a straight line down the middle of the court. I would definitely tune in to watch that. Lillard would be a favorite to win I would think.
Actually, I'm changing my opinion. This could actually be compelling if it works. The first and second quarters are usually when the guys coast. This might prevent that. The untimed fourth also could be crazy competitive, cuz it's essentially like 21. There will be at least 3 game winners. It's all contingent on these guys caring about charity, but I kinda like it. One change I'm pissed they didn't implement is a 4pt line.
Dock the players on a team a million dollars each if the opposing team's score surpasses 120 in regulation. An All-Star game with some actual defense played would lure me back to watching.
“ More aggressively not going to” So like you are gonna close your eyes and put those big gorilla fingers in your ears?
Because it sounds ridiculous. Just make the play actual defense in a regular game. That is how you make it interesting.
Exactly--you don't know what will accomplish your desired goal; nor does anyone else. Similarly, we don't know how this funky set of rule changes will affect the game, if it will make it any better or not, so why not give it a chance before assuming it won't be any good?
