    Actress and director Asia Argento, a leading voice in the #MeToo movement, quietly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to her own sex assault accuser — a former child actor who once played Argento’s son, a report said Sunday.

    Argento — among the first women to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault — recently agreed to pay $380,000 to actor and musician Jimmy Bennett, who claimed that she sexually assaulted him in a California hotel room in 2013, when he was 17, according to The New York Times.

    The Times said their report was based on correspondences between lawyers for Argento and Bennett that was sent anonymously to them and verified by people familiar with the case.

    Included with the documents was a selfie showing the partially-nude couple in bed dated May 2013, when Bennett was 17 and Argento was 37, the report said.

    Bennett’s lawyer filed a notice of intent demanding $3.5 million in damages in November — one month after Argento, the longtime girlfriend of the late Anthony Bourdain, and 12 other women publicly accused Weinstein of rape, according to The Times.

    The notice claimed that Argento’s “sexual battery” of Bennett left him with lasting emotional trauma that rendered him unable to make a living, the report said.

    The pair met in 2004 when Argento cast Bennett, then just 7, to play her son in “The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things.”

    It was an early highlight in a prolific childhood acting career for Bennett, who also appeared in “Daddy Day Care” and “The Amityville Horror.”

    In 2013, Bennett was visiting Argento’s California hotel room when she convinced a relative to leave them alone, The Times reported, citing the documents.
    She then plied him with alcohol and sexually assaulted him, it’s alleged in the filing.

    Lawyers for Argento and Bennett agreed to a deal in which Argento would pay him $380,000 over a year-and-a-half, beginning last April, according to report.

    Neither Argento, who lives in Rome, nor Bennett commented for The Times report.

    Apparantly she knew him as he played her son in a movie....when he was 7.....

    yeah but admit it....if she did that to you as a 17 year old you'd be braggin' about it to this day....17 year old millionaire actor gets blown by 37 year old millionaire actress....personally I remember being 17 and it would have definitely been consensual for me...I have trouble understanding this one given that he kept a loving relationship with her for years until recently...when his money has dried up

    I don't know much about it...but I was a 17 year old teen at one point...just thought that perspective should be in play...not saying she wasn't wrong because clearly she was….I slept with a nurse once in hs….was hardly grounds for a law suit in my circumstance...I was 17....she was in her 20s...it was consensual..sure as hell didn't traumatize me

    They weren't related other than being movie stars.....if she did this when he was 7 I'd agree...I just think 17 year old male teens are a different category in the hormone dept

    Yeah, but the point is that she first knew him when he was 7 and likely groomed him over time for her sexual assault. Even if you are horny, if you've known someone that long platonically, it can still be weird and uncomfortable.

    I'm sure you're right....if Sophia Loren had groomed me from the age of 7 I'd have still jumped her bones at 17 without blinking......I'm sure for some, it's traumatic...my point is for me, it wouldn't be.

    Also I should say as a disclaimer....I know nothing about Asia Argento or even her work in film...she could very well be evil incarnate...wouldn't know...her boyfriend in the end sure didn't seem too thrilled

    nah....I wouldn't but I also didn't have an attractive aunt....my blood relatives were all male...my aunts were aunts by marriage as well but not what I'd call attractive..no aunt fantasies...plenty of Sopia Loren fantasies though...

    Did you have a bad experience with a relative? I'm getting that impression...if you did, my perspective wouldn't apply at all....and I respect anyone who was abused non consensually across the board...not sure it's the case with this kid in the story though...maybe it is.
