He held the poker face for a brief moment after Day’s putt slipped past the left side of the hole, a sheepish grin eventually forming as the weight of his first PGA Tour victory since the 2014 Tour Championship and perhaps a bit of empathy sunk in. “Listen, I’ve missed a short putt not too long ago to lose a playoff,” said Horschel, who missed a 2-foot par putt to fall out of a five-man playoff at the RSM Classic in November. “I know the feeling.
