    Eggers has been a long-time, very reasonable and balanced writer in Portland. Easily one of the more respected sports writers here.

    Man, Jlprk is right about Eggers. Just the facts, maam. Seriously, if I was Olshey right now. Id be on my way to "Fuck it" mode. This "asset acquisition" and "good trade for all" crap he espouses has no place in the modern NBA. It's kill or be killed. "I'm going to take ya'll too minnow state." All these "undervalued" first round players he got us are barely fighting for 10th place. He overplayed his hand. Now a great way to correct that would be using the chaos around the Lakers and convince them that Dame is the beginning of a new dynasty and take them for EVERYTHING . I'm not saying do it, but I'd at least be looking into it. You've built a Ford Focus out of spare parts. But my guess is Olshey think's as much about his future in the land of butt implants and decent valet parking as he does with this team.

    There's a difference between reporting on a negative truth and writing negative columns with the primary purpose of self-aggrandizement. Eggers does the former.

    Slow your roll cowboy. Neil got Nurkic with a draft pick essentially. No free agents are going to come here and the best GM in the world is not going to trade us out of this one. The draft is our very best bet but along with that comes necessary patience.
