Bears fans react to selection of Mitchell Trubisky

The Bears traded up all of one spot, and traded three draft picks to take quarterback Mitchell Trubisky with the No. 2 in Thursday night’s draft.

Chicago Bears fans are conditioned to generally not trust the Bears, at this point. So, the reaction was not altogether positive in some corners of the Twittersphere.

It's worth noting Dolphins QB and former No. 8 overall pick Ryan Tannehill was questioned a lot coming out of the 2012 draft for having just 19 college starts. New Bears QB and No. 2 overall pick Mitch Trubisky has only 13 college starts.

The Bears are expecting a lot from a 13 game player. Realistically, they really have no QB identity and this last season was torture for the faithful Bears fans.

The Bears gave up 2017 third- and fourth-round round picks this year and a third in 2018 to get draft QB Mitchell Trubisky. My guess is that GM Ryan Pace had intel that there was another team (likely Cleveland) making calls about moving up.

Maybe high reward. I dont see it yet. 13 games? I dont see how he helps short term. Maybe long term

 

I don't expect he's the starter, unless he dazzles in training camp.
