So, umm, yeah. And who will grade the graders? Doesn't it seem human nature, as well as business nature, for the reviewers to feel extra pressure to give a "positive" interpretation to close calls/reviews/grades?

I agree it's a positive direction. Sorta. The NBA already 'sometimes' admits to mistakes. This seems designed to make them look better, and deflect fan suspicion and criticism, by saying, yeah, we missed that one, but we got the other 10 right.

I'll believe it when I see it. I think Silver is just a sheep disguised as a wolf.

I think its a great plan. Fans and media can rewatch the calls and judge for themselves.

This may be the first step in eventually reviewing officials foul calls during games. Before they do that I want them to speed up the replay process it should be done in 15 seconds instead of the four minute long breaks we have now.

Until they start shifting officiating to third parties, this is definitely the most significant step they've made towards improving it. I've found myself complaining about refs far fewer times this season than any I've seen in the recent past.

This makes a lot of sense when you think about Silvers game plan that is to make money off from all the betting that goes based off of NBA games then there has to be more and more transparity with the Refs otherwise larger scale issues will start to happen when the NBA is actively making money off of gambling.

Man, there are going to be some HORRIBLE calls made this weekend, just so they can get their last licks in.

Joey Crawford might go on strike. Or stick a horse head in Silver's bed.

I'd really like to see the league come up with some format to allow coaches one or two challenges per half. It would have to be limited to cases where there's a stoppage of play anyway, so it wouldn't help with some of the missed calls, but it's stupid that the current system when there's a video review for possession or something and it's obvious a foul occurred but was missed, the refs can't take that into consideration.

Good thing the Pac 12 doesn't do this. The refs personal safety would be threatened when the results were analyzed.

Silver has been great as commissioner up to this point.

I wonder how much of this has to do with Silver really wanting legalized sports betting in every state. The NBA doesn't have the best history with Referees, I wonder if all this "transparency" is just so that they can get what they want on that front.

which is smart. If there are crooked refs, don't just cover them up, expose them so that the league can cash out on sports betting, rather than some (derogatory) (derogatory) (expletive) somewhere.

When can we tar and feather scott foster? Maybe a week in the stockade in the rose quarter, with free rotting organic locally grown fruits to throw.

Making a bad call doesn't make you a crooked ref. Just sayin...

I'd believe that if there wasn't a track record of audacious calls...

That's just a silly response. Referees are human and they make mistakes. I'm not saying that there aren't crooked referees. You get that right....?
