Bighorns Outshoot the Stampede by 24 Points

    After taking off with the lead in the first quarter and never letting it go, the Bighorns outscored the Idaho Stampede by 24 points with a final score of 121-97 Friday night at the Century Link Arena in Boise, Idaho.
    Erick Green paced the Bighorns with 27 points, two assists and eight rebounds. Sundiata Gianes tallied 21 points and two assists while Ricky Ledo netted 21 points and added four rebounds for the BIghorns. Ledo went 9-14 from the field while Bighorns forward, Reggie Hearn, went 3-3 from behind the arc.

    Gaines led the Bighorns in the first quarter with 12 points while Ledo had six points and two rebounds in the first. Hearn notched five points. The Bighorns outscored the Stampede in the quarter 35-20 and shot 63 percent from the field compared to the Stampede's 47 percent.

    In the second quarter, Gaines notched nine points and added a steal. Hearn scored six points in the second and grabbed two rebounds. The Bighorns shot 67 percent from behind the arc in the quarter while the Stampede shot 38 percent from behind the arc.

    The Bighorns went into the locker room at the half leading the Stampede 61-42. Gaines went 7-9 from the field in the first half and 4-6 from behind the arc.

    During the third quarter, Ledo paced the Bighorns with 13 points and four steals. Ledo went 6-8 from the field in the third. Green netted seven points in the quarter and added five rebounds for the Bighorns.

    Green caught on fire and led the Bighorns in the final quarter with 14 points. Chad Toppert added six points for the Bighorns in the quarter while Hearn netted five points. The Bighorns led the Stampede by 28 points midway through the quarter.

    The Bighorns return to the Century Link Arena Saturday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. to again face the Stampede.
