<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">BIRMINGHAM -- It must be pretty wonderful being Chauncey Billups these days. There he was Monday, primed to hack away on the Birmingham Country Club's championship course while serving as host to the 23rd annual The Children's Center Celebrity Golf Classic. His wife, Piper, was there, playing host to her own Hip-Hop "Tee" Party to raise even more money for the Center. Earlier in the month Billups signed a five-year deal with the Pistons that could pay him as much as $60 million (the fifth year, a team option, is not fully guaranteed). The first four years are guaranteed at an average of $11.5 million per year, which is the richest annual contract ever paid by the Pistons. Next month, he will be in Las Vegas competing with Team USA in the FIBA Americas Championship, an Olympic qualifying tournament. Not a bad summer so far, huh, Mr. Big Shot? "Yeah, I am pretty happy," Billups said with a widening smile before taking to the links. "I am happy to be back and have everything done and to know I am going to be a Piston for the rest of my career." That's what he said he wanted all along -- to stay in Detroit.</div> Source: The Detroit News
