<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"What are your thoughts on Kevin Garnett and his place in the history books?" The answer was surprising... and somewhat confusing. "There are a lot of competitors in this league. Usually the ones who have had the most success are the top competitors. That's the way it has always been," said Bird. After the comment, he nodded his head to give me the impression of "Yeah, I said it," and walked away.</div>http://blogs.citypages.com/sports/2007/03/...y_legend_on.aspHmm.. :shifty2:
Larry Bird had every right to say this. KG has not won squat. To Bird stats meant nothing when it came to winning so obviously this is how he's going to view KG.Bird may have just ruined any chances of the Pacers getting KG though.
well, cant argue with Bird...but both come from different eras...Bird from a era where one player can carry a team..and KG a era where you need a team...no matter who you are, of course unless your dropping 65 one game, and 50 the next.
Yeah, Bird's right. Teammates have absolutely nothing to do with a championship. McHale, Johnson and co. were nothing compared to Larry's competitiveness.

But you can't argue with his point...he does have a point.
