I've noticed that, since February 1st, Hulu won't add blazer games to my virtual DVR anymore. I can't watch NBC Sports Northwest except as if it were a live channel, AND I don't get the use the DVR function of Hulu, rendering the Blazers streaming option worse than having cable. Does Sly or anyone with their finger up the... umm... with the ear of the team know what's going on? If this is something new, I'm going to just cancel Hulu, save myself $40 a month, and torrent the games. Fuck whoever is messing with this mid-season.
I suggest you contact Hulu support. Complaining here isn't going to get you any satisfaction, sorry. They're still advertising add games to DVR. I'd call them or email them and ask why it suddenly isn't working for you. https://www.hulu.com/live-sports ALL IN ONE PLACE A better way to follow sports Pick your favorite teams, sports, or leagues and we'll recommend games for you based on your selections. Record the sports you love to your cloud DVR and never miss a moment, whether you’re at home or on the go. Games are subject to regional availability and blackouts. Due to rights restrictions, live streaming of NFL games is not available on smartphones.
The Error message was: "Because of the streaming rights to this game, DVR is unavailable". It's working as designed on Hulu. I need to talk to the rights owners, not the infrastructure plebs.
Anyone with Youtube TV know if the same thing is occurring on that platform? EDIT: Actually, a coworker of mine just confirmed that the DVR function on Youtube TV still functions perfectly for him for Blazer games, and that he just utilized it last night for that very purpose.
I really think Hulu is the one you need to contact. I don't see why the streaming rights would have changed. I do think they might black out some games (like they do here for L*kers games) and for that reason some games might not work with the DVR. In general, it seems to me that if it worked all along, it should continue to work.
The words you say make sense; thank you. I should contact Hulu, and spend time dealing with them to get satisfaction. Now that I've seen some info, though, what makes more sense is spending zero minutes on that and instead ditch $40/mo for Hulu and spend $35/mo for Youtube TV instead
I personally love Hulu. I watch most of the shows I'd normally DVR on Hulu instead. The picture quality is superior to my digital cable (Frontier FIOS). The big knock against them is they broadcast in stereo, not 5.1.
Yeah but it's $45/mo for the sports package. I used to have it, and enjoyed it, but didn't like the stream quality. Hulu has been better about that, but then this dumb DVR thing... ah well, maybe 3rd time's the charm.
Youtube tv is amazing. $35 a month and every blazer game. not to mention, local channels, sports channels (all espn's), unlimited DVR, entertainment channels (TNT, TBS, history, etc...)..... i love it. so much better than anything else ive tried. EDIT: AND, you can use anything that supports it. phone, tablet, xbox, whatever. you can also sign up 6 different profiles to it so each person in your family/friends has their own account, basically.
News & Rumors (Feb. 2018) YouTube TV added channels on Feb. 14, including Turner Broadcasting networks such as TNT, Adult Swim, TBS, CNN, Cartoon Network, truTV and Turner Classic Movies. As of March 13, new subscriptions will cost $40 per month, and those who subscribe before that date will keep their $35 per month base rate. https://www.tomsguide.com/us/youtube-tv-vs-cable-tv-replacements,news-24578.html
i saw that. wasnt sure if it raised the rate of anyone who is just signing up. still better than suckcast. good thing i got it a month ago.
I'm actually having lots of luck on Reddit with Buffstreams. Just working well for some reason. And i pay nothing except data for my phone which i pay for anyway.
