I wonder if these are gonna be more like fan fest or an actual preseason game. Can’t imagine they have time to fuck around, so I’m gonna guess the latter.

Games are real. No different than a "regular" preseason game.

I predict that both teams will play hard.

So i'm wondering if the refs will let the teams play a bit more without fans in the stands?

It will be different for sure but with good cameraship and commentating the games should be fun to watch and I like that the playing courts are all level.
No home court advantage, early games, different routines before and after games in the bubble, should make for an interesting tournament.

I watch (real) football and the first time watching a game without fans was really weird, but after a couple times you just get used to it and it becomes to feel normal. Some leagues have pumped crowd noise and it’s actually better than it sounds. Sounds like a regular game. They also CG the stands to make it look full. Dunno what the NBA has planned. I’m guessing they’ll dim the lights so you can’t see the stands. Dunno about crowd noise, I think I’d rather just listen to Melo cuss everyone and everything out.

No. They expect everyone to be there in person for the championship parade.

Roughly two weeks later Portland will see a huge spike in Covid cases.

Maybe for fans it won't. Ball is ball. Obviously nothing is like playing in front of 20,000 screaming fans, but once the ball is in bounds these dudes are going to go at it. I've seen more intense games up at Irving Park or summer league games at the Salvation Army then sone NBA games. Maybe people at home might not like the atmosphere, but it won't shake the players I'm sure.

less distractions too for players that get into crowd interaction.
If they play, i expect very good focused ball, once the rust is off.

Through a Zoom with each player at home. Or a Bubble parade in Orlando.
