<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Portland Trail Blazers announced that rookie forward Viktor Khryapa is out for the 2004-05 season after suffering an injury at the Rocky Mountain Revue earlier this month.

The 22-year-old underwent successful foot surgery on Wednesday to repair the injured Lisfranc complex in his left mid-foot. The injury was sustained in a summer league game on July 16th went an opponent stepped on Khryapa?s foot.

"It is with great disappointment that we learn that Viktor will miss the season,? said Trail Blazers General Manager John Nash. ?He is a player that we were anxious to have play for us because of his versatility and comprehensive understanding of the game. In a freakish play in the Rocky Mountain Revue, he sustained an injury that will require a year of healing and rehab following his recent surgery. We look forward to his full recovery and his return to the floor next summer."</div>

Because,he's an overrated European which will take time to develop and thats IF he will develop...

He didnt get any minutes in a EU team who have like 5 failed NBA players in their roster to lead the team..

In my opinion the Blazers should sieze this injury and sign a nice player from the summer league that will prove he's more worthy [IMG]

Development is the question for every young player, wherever they're from...
The fact that he didn't get a lot of minutes doesn't mean he can't play basketball. He played on a very strong CSKA Moscow team, one of the topteams in Europe.
Obviously, he was drafted by Portland because they think he will develop into a good player, since they're comparing him to Kirilenko. Have you seen him play or are you just judging on the stats?

His stats are good but i don't see him as a special player just because he's European,i disreaspect most of those Euro guys.

There will be no Nxt Kirilenko,Nowitzki or something like that, the europeans star production is not as fast and good as American guys.

In addition, everybody pays attention to Nowitzki,Stojacavic and parker, but who gives a shit about Taskshavili,b.dIAW,M.panerbache,A.Rigaedau, S.Schzyvzek,Burke,Fotsis and all those failed guys...

K stats dont mean a whole lot,you can see Ex NBA - 2.5ppg in 14 mpg in the last team in the league or something scoring 18 Ppg in 32 Mpg in the Euroleague...

There is a way between 'not useful' and 'special player' you know...

Well now we'll never know.I thought that he had the potential to be pretty good. Not great, but not bad either. He could've been a solid contributor with around 8 ppg 5 rpg and maybe an assist or block here and there.
