I know it's a little early, but I wanted to maybe get a thread going about some moves we hope to see VS. what we probably will see this offseason because I have been excited about yet another asset we acquired along with the Nurkic trade. Having said that, I realize that our chances of signing a major free agent this summer is limited unless there is shifting in cap space. However, I am pretty optimistic at this point because if that were to happen, I feel like this summer would be the year it did. In the past, free agents have looked past us when deciding where to go too many a time. With "Nurkic Fever" coming to town, this in my opinion might be enough to finally tip the scales in our favor when trying to convince someone to join us. What trades do you hope happen that would positively affect the team? What do you think we need to add (depth, 3 and D, spacing, rim protection) the most to make us a contender? Who do you think we should draft in this pretty deep draft? Should we trade up for a lottery pick? If so, who do you think would be a good fit? I'll start it off with I think if we were to trade up in the draft it would be for someone like Josh Jackson. I like his defensive mentality and honestly I kind of like the idea of Harkless giving us that energy off the bench. To get this done, maybe send the Suns Crabbe or Turner (if they'll take him) and a couple of our 1st rounders. My wish list for this offseason would be if we could somehow find a way to trade for Dario Saric. I have been watching that guy for most of the year and am really impressed with his game. What do you all think?
This season i really wanna go to the playoffs. Next season we need a back up C, a start PF, and i still believe Noah and Moe can improve more and became solid players.
Find a way to trade for Kyle O'Quinn. A heavily protected first (think top 20) and an expiring Davis? Find a team to trade for Meyers Leonard. Brooklyn is a possibility, and Leonards best games have come against them so maybe they'll bite. Draft: Isaiah Hartenstein (Meyers replacement, can play C and PF) Harry Giles (risk/reward) Terrance Ferguson (shooter)
I like the idea of this thread, but the timing is not so good. 1) The offseason is LOOOOOONG, and so we generally reserve offseason topics for the offseason. 2) We are a hair under the luxury tax and CJs contract goes from $3 mil to $24 mil next year, so cost cutting is in order. However, many of the posters here want to ignore the salary cap. 3) Many posters also have a very unrealistic gauge on the values of other team's players.... and ours, too.
