Finally. Surprising choice, but I’ve seen him play in the g league. He’s legit. Was good on both ends. We need a backup PG, but we don’t control him past this season. Maybe giving him an opportunity now gives us a leg up in free agency. I’d rather see Adams run the offense than Simons tbh. I don’t think Simons is ready and I’m not sure he isn’t just another CJ type, where yeah he can handle the ball, but he’s better off as a SG.
I think this could also mean we see some big lineups, with Melo at the three. The grizzlies for example start Kyle Anderson. That’s a good matchup for him. Then there’s obviously the Lakers who play big.
I may be wrong but I think Simons is mostly off guard and I would rather have a legit pass first pg as a back up.
they wouldn’t have signed a point guard if he wasn’t. Plus I saw a photo of him practicing at the blazers facility a couple days ago. Doubt he’d be in Portland if he wasn’t planning on playing.
He's a shooter. Not big but he can hit a three for sure. Weird cross numbers on size. One link has him 6-0 and 225 lbs another has him 6-2 and 190 lbs. Another has him at 6-2 225 lbs. Anyone know which it is? Pictures look 6-0 and 190 lbs.
I think it could also mean Gary Trent Jr will be playing at the 3 as well with Simon's at the 2 behind CJ and Adam's at the point behind Dame
yeah I’m guessing Trent will move into the starting lineup. I actually don’t think Adams will play. I think they’re just getting him around the team so they can sign him in the summer and then next season he can take over as the backup point. Maybe he gets an opportunity if Simons falters. This is good news for Little/Wenyen though. They’ll have an opportunity to play, even if Hezonja gets first crack at minutes.
Jaylen Adams - Wisconsin Herd 1.8 steals per game Opponent On/Off Per 100 Possessions: On (102 points per 100), Off: (106.2 points per 100) For the second straight time, Jaylen Adams appears as a finalist for one of our year-end awards. In the same way as his progression as a shooter allowed him to be a pick for the Most Improved Player of the Year category, the same can be said about his work on the defensive end. On a team that was led by three 20+ point scorers (Adams, Frank Mason, and Rayjon Tucker before his call-up), the fact that great defense stood as arguably the biggest reason why they finished the year with a 33-10 record. During this past season, opponents only averaged 105.2 points per 100 possessions against the Herd, which placed them fourth in the G League. Along with forcing turnovers, Adams’ ability to guard the perimeter stood as a big reason behind the team’s success. When the 2nd year guard was on the court, opponents only shot 32% from beyond the arc against the Herd. In comparison, their three-point percentage grew by almost five points when he was on the sidelines, where they hit 37% of their long-range attempts.
lol....I squirmed when ever he brought the ball up and the way he brings that ball out front on his shot is crazy. he gets away with many times but the more he was scouted the tougher time he had getting a decent shot off.
Btw how funny is it that Olshey signs another 4 year mid major? You think he’ll get along with Dame and CJ? Also, what a baller
