One suggestion, I would not count accomplishments or stats from years not on the Blazers. So..... Aldridge for example. I would not count the last few All Star appearances. Also....... fuck Aldridge.
I would put Sheed above Aldridge because Sheed was the consummate teammate. All his teammates swore by him. Aldridge on the other hand had a reputation as being a diva. Sheed played defense. Really good defense. Championship caliber defense. Aldridge was lazy and didn't close out on jump shooters. He was also supposed to be a good shot blocker coming out of college and that never materialized.
I'd probably put Neal ahead of Carr and Cliff ahead of Buck, but overall, not much to argue with. Impressive, since this has clearly been Portland's deepest position historically. I see Chief didn't even rate an honorable mention? Surely he's done more in his time here than Jermaine and Kemp.
Cool list. I agree with it. I dont think Jermaine O'Neal is worthy of an honorable mention. He didnt really do anything as a Blazer. We obviously traded him too soon. Ugh!
I was just a kid, but I saw Wicks play more for UCLA than I did for Portland. The Blazers were almost never on the TV back then and I don't live in Portland. even with that qualifier, I'd put Buck ahead of Wicks. Adding Buck turned the Blazers into a contender and he was strong on both ends of the floor
Damn, did we miss out on Jermaine O'Neal or what. I've heard stories about how he was absolutely killing it in practices too. Nobody could stop him. Sigh.....
Skal is gonna be our next Jermaine? Or is that going to be the "make-up call" to offset missing out on Jermaine's career?
In fairness, there were negative stories too. In particular, he supposedly whined at the idea of playing center.
