I liked Sarr’s potential and felt like he could have legitimately contributed off the bench. Unfortunate timing on the injury for him.
I thought Sarr looked a little better, but you have to love the 7'9" wing span. Project for sure, but they must have seen something they like.
Just based on the type of player they've been trying to get, I'd be shocked if we don't look at upgrading our Center position at the deadline. It's so obvious Chauncey/Joe want a mobile rim protecting center and we just don't have that.
I liked what I saw from Sarr but his sprained wrist might have been worse than just a sprained wrist I guess...he had the longest rehab for a sprain I think I've ever seen so....some red flag has made him replaceable....this new Senegalese kid they signed is 19......I trust Joe when it comes to roster moves.
I like the signing - but I think Sarr has a LOT more potential than Butler does. They are waiving the wrong guy...
I agree think the play of Eubanks has really shown what works in Billups system. High motor shot blocking, screen setting, rebounder who knows his role. Any good options out there? Little and Nurk for…….
I think they play a different position, so maybe that was their reason. Butler has shooting skills, he is more of a stretch 4. He just needs to get bigger.
For a kid that just turned 20 years old last month, his body is BUILT. Kind of the same frame as Dwight Howard.
I agree. I think Sarr was the better player of the two. Makes me think the wrist injury was more than it is.
I mentioned this in another thread but it's really interesting looking at where Portland ranks in opponent shooting distance conversion rates 3pt - 13th 16'-->3pt - 3rd 10-->16' - 2nd 3-->10' - 5th 0-->3' - 23rd top-5 in 3 out of 5 zones and 13th in three's. But pretty bad around the rim. Making that worse is that Portland gives up the 3rd most attempts at the rim probably lots of factors to this but it sure doesn't speak well of defending penetration and probably is, in part, a function of a vulnerable zone defense. But I think it's likely this is also due to Portland's overall lack of length and that Nurk is really not that good of a rim protector
