Wondering if you guys had heard that the End of Days is near here in the NYC? Like the movie The Day After Tomorrow, the NYC is supposed to get hit with what the Mayor today called possibly the worst blizzard in the city's HISTORY! No joke! It's super cold right now, but calm. suppose to start snowing here tomorrow morning. They are predicting 65mph gusts and 3 feet of snow tomorrow! That said, I can't remember the last time if EVER a Blazer game was postponed. Not saying tomorrow's will, just saying we still have to get out of here and on to Cleveland after. http://www.cnn.com/2015/01/25/us/weather-storm/index.html
I want to say about 10 or 11 years ago a big ice storm hit Portland and they were thinking of canceling. I remember they had the game, but there was barely anybody there. Played the Grizz I think. I want to say they let all the fans move down to the court and sit.
I want to say the blazer dancers gave free 'rides' to the few fans that were there. I want to say that the fans were invited to shower with the team, and many did. I want to say that Paul Allen gave each fan that came to the game $1 million. There are so many things I want to say! barfo
I remember that game. It was an unfair advantage for Memphis because they were used to an empty arena.
I want to say that game was against the Wizards during Martell's rookie year. Reports were the arena let everyone in the building move down to the 100-level. Attendance generously listed at 12,486 Box Score Also found the old Basketball Forum thread about the Ice Storm from that date.
Wow, amazing how many of those posters aren't posting now. mgb has a good excuse, of course, but not the rest of them... barfo
I'm going to the game in Brooklyn and I want to go to Cleveland game but Amtrak said Tuesday travel will be canceled. I assume flights will be too. Didn't occur to me til now that if I can't get there, the Blazers can't either! Storm is supposed to start tomorrow night so hopefully they can get on out of here after the game before the storm gets going.
