<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added some world-class speed to their pass-catching ranks today with the signing of import receiver Abraham Morlu to a contract.

As per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Morlu (6-1, 210, UNC-Charlotte ’03, DOB: May 5, 1981 in Liberia, Africa) was a member of the Liberian track and field team at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. The fleet-footed sprinter also represented Liberia at the 2001 World Track and Field Championships and the 2002 African Championships.

Morlu attended the University of North Carolina-Charlotte on a track scholarship and was an eight-time All-Conference selection and a five-time winner of the Commissioner’s Medal as one of the top male athletes in Conference USA.

Prior to joining the UNC-Charlotte track team, he was one of the top-rated high school football prospects in North Carolina.

His passion for the gridiron was re-ignited after playing semi-pro football for the Charlotte Stars following his graduation from university. He broke an unofficial league record after compiling more than 500 total yards of offence in a single game.</div>
