Finally, a place where HCP and SPD can go head-to-head.

It would be such a shame if Antonio Harvey signed up, but I guess I'd just have to get used to someone else on the radio broadcasts. :smiley-pray:

I've been wanting a seniors league NBA tour forever! The seniors league in tennis is awesome!

This reminds me of a failed allstar event where they had old retired players or "legends" or whatever they called them out there playing 5vs5. I think half of them got hurt.

Half court 3 on 3 would be my way of doing it...tennis does that...shortens the match time for the seniors.

I think half-court, or fewer than 5 guys, would be boring and pointless. However, adopting some sort of line rules like lacrosse could be an interesting way to reduce the physical toll basketball takes on the body. And then coaching/strategy become even more important.

I disagree..half court three on three is the norm on courts all over the globe...some great tournaments..the advantage is you get the vets skills without them running the full court game which is why they are retired pretty much anyway. You could have two games at once on a court.

If I were inclined to watch non-NBA basketball it sure wouldn't be to watch half-court basketball - especially played by guys who were once pros. I'd rather watch And1, or community rec league games. Watching 3-on-3 sounds boring as shit - at that point you might as well just go play it yourself. Fun to play, boring to watch.

However, in this ex-NBA league I think you could try things like SAC's owner wants to do: have a designated cherry-picker. I think it could get interesting if the rules state that you HAVE to leave at least one player on each side of the court. Strategy could get really interesting with that rule, where the decision is made on the fly each possession. You could have a "mid-fielder" rule where one player is only allowed to operate between the 3-point lines (again, a way to reduce physical toll), and now you're looking at only being able to have 3 guys on the floor who can go anywhere they want.

I like that idea. Have games to 21; win two out of three games in a match; or 3 of 5. Stagger games.
