Talking about the potential of Kawhi Leonard going to LA, talked about LeBron and George going to LA too, and that Dame Lillard wants out too. I about drove off the highway. I was stressed out, couldn't concentrate, and once I got back, I immediately went to a bunch of basketball sites to tell me it wasn't true. Then I was pissed at Stokley, and wanted to rip his lips off. But I was was relieved. Where did he get that from?
I agree with that fan. The thing is, if you trade your best players away, you become completely irrelevant. I want Dame to be a Blazer forever. There are always gonna be a few who don't feel that way, but they are in the small minority of Blazer fans. These "Superteams" are gonna ruin the League IMO. Part of what makes the NFL so great is that a tiny town like Green Bay Wisconsin can win the title, over and over again. Denver is a powerhouse, not just a "flyover" city. Pittsburgh is mighty year after year. That just doesn't happen in the NBA, because too many cowardly players aren't willing to see the whole "process" out. It sucks. I don't want that to happen in Portland. Portland is a top five basketball city fan wise. It has an electric atmosphere on a nightly basis. Houston had wholesale seats empty on any given night. I don't care what their figures say. I watch the games. Everything I read, and I've seen says Dame wants to be in, and succeed in Portland. I really hope that is true. The numbers may be good now for the NBA right now, but if only a few teams can succeed on a regular basis, many loyal fans will say, "why bother".
I thought it was pretty clear he was talking about fans thinking "the grass is greener on the other side" by trading him.
This is why I hate social media, Dame said careful what they wish for so, now we’re going to be submitted to a month of, “Dame wants to leave”, and “Dame wants to be a Laker”....
I might be more worried if Dame wasn't showing up to watch college players try out for our #24 pick. I don't think that's what someone with one foot out the door would be doing with his time.
Totally agree. Social media is out of control. But I will say Dame, and other celebs probably spend too much time looking at it. Social media is the easiest way for hate to travel directly to it's intended victim. And that is truly sad in today's world. It would be best if people would shut it down, but that aint happening. Look bad things happen everywhere. LeBron had the gate of his house in LA defaced. LA has ten times the amount of lunitics, hate mongers, and filth Portland does virtually by the fact it's 10 times larger. You can't escape the lowlife scum, but you can't be afraid of it either. Here in Denver we just had a dude who stated he just started new meds for mental illness, got road rage, and chased down a family and shot them up. 1 child dead. Senseless, but it happens everywhere sadly. But social media has become a road rage over the phone. Portland loves Dame, and he's got to see that.
When you are one with the truth, this type of click bait will not affect you. We are literally moving into the movie idiocracy. Oh and new study came out. The average IQ has dropped 7 pts....
I will say that, because Portland has to work harder to be relevant vs. big limelight cesspools like LA, it does require a tougher skin to overlook the B.S. Yesterday , with a two week long hotspell in the 90's, tougher work schedule, and being tired, my armor was thin.
When he says "careful what they wish for", I wonder if he understands that those wishing for that are the minority. By leaving he would be punishing the majority that love him. It's that same old crap when we were young, and some punk acted up in class, and everyone else had to pay with NO RECESS, or more HOMEWORK. Or when I was in military training, MORE PT or HOSPITAL PARTIES. IF he leaves, the jerks win.
Of course he understands that. The tweet from the fan says "fans" want this, implying they're not actual fans but idiots. Damian is a lot of things (all NBA, etc), but he's not a fucking idiot.
I g True. I guess I just need a hug from Dame. Something like " I'm stayin' and playin', eat it suckas".
