The 37-year-old Shaw won three NBA titles in four seasons with the Lakers. The team planned a news conference for Wednesday to announce Shaw's new position. The 6-foot-6 guard was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 1988 out of University of California-Santa Barbara. He played with Boston, Miami, Orlando, Golden State, Philadelphia, Portland and Los Angeles, and averaged 6.9 points in 943 NBA games. He averaged a career-best 13.8 points for Boston in 1990-91, his second season.</div>
Thanks for the update, allnet. Mr. Dependable will definately be missed on the court. He was the only other big guard the Lakers had in the rotation this past year...but it's just better for the team to make room for the younger guys at this point. I'm definately gonna miss his knack for finding his threepoint stroke in the biggest of games. Also gonna miss his lob-pass skills.
Good move. I love B-shaw. I hope he always stays with the organization and never let the ShawShaq Redemption! 8)
