Dwyane Wade has yet to formally make a decision on his $23.8 million player option with the Chicago Bulls for the 17-18 season.

Wade is unlikely to command that type of salary on the open market this offseason.

"All I can tell you is most everyone associated with the Bulls believes Wade will pick up the option and remain in Chicago for a second season," wrote K.C. Johnson. "More surprising things have happened in league history, though. So stay tuned."

Wade has an inconsistent first season with the Bulls, as did the team as a whole.

I am not surprised. I expected this. At his age, he will not leave the money. He will be here with or without Butler.

Yuck...Wade will stay because he can't make more money anywhere else. How heroic.

Tough time to be a Bulls fan.

Wade is easily the best player the Bulls have had since Jordan left. He's worth every penny. Too bad he didn't play his whole career with the team - if Pax had only been willing to include Donyell Marshall along with the pick that ultimately got us Kurt (SIC) Heinrich to get the pick that got Miami Wade.

Can't blame Wade for maximizing the contract GarPax decided to sign him to or for the lack of a real plan in team building that led to the frustrating Rondo - Butler - Wade big 3.
