    By way of LG.net:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Possibly the toughest player in this draft may have just had his hand revealed just a little bit yesterday in Portland. According to NBA sources, Andrew Bynum worked out for the Portland Trailblazers once again yesterday, his second workout with the organization in the past week. Bynum had supposedly shut down his workouts and even cancelled a workout with the Nets on Wednesday. The workout was supposed to be top secret, but word quickly leaked out to us from two separate and independent sources. With the NBA finals in the books and teams being free to make trades once again, the stage could be set for the Blazers to pull off a much anticipated trade with the Lakers that would send the #3 pick to Los Angeles. The Lakers would use the #3 to take either the logical pick, Chris Paul ,or Kupchack?s favorite, Gerald Green. Portland would take Andrew Bynum, maybe pick up Caron Butler on the way, and dump a bad contract like Ruben Patterson in the process in return for Chucky Atkins? ending contract.</div> http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1018

This trade makes no sense either. The Lakers trade a younger, upcoming SF in Butler for Patterson an aging SF. Then they draft a SF in Gerald Green and trade away Atkins the only PG (expiring contract), plus the #10 pick.

I can't believe this would happen, makes no sense, Rueben and the 3 for Chucky and the 10, but Caron also? Rueben's contract is almost as notoriously bad as B. Grants. God I hope this is wrong [IMG]

Ok, since I'm not real informed on the Lakers, I'll ask this instead of passing immediate judgement. Why would the Lakers want Green, if he's basicly a Kobe clone? Then need help inside and at the point, so how would it help to beef up on the wing and nowhere else? Or am I just missing the point there? [IMG] Phil's proven that he can lead a team with great wing players (Jordan and Pippen) to great things, against the logic that you need great players inside and outside, but I don't think that Kobe and Gerald Green constitute the next Jordan/Pippen. And grabbing Chris Paul doesn't make much sense to me, either, because of Phil's insistence of using the triangle. Granted, Paul is more of a scoring point than the other two top points in this draft. So, Laker fans, tell me what's up here, cuz the way I'm seeing it this trade would be a very elaborate way of spinning the franchise's wheels. Am I wrong? [IMG]

Unless we wanted Chris Paul...I don't see why we would do this...
