Man.... I just want a new team. MLB, NHL, NFL... I don't care.

Amen. And I don't think getting MLB would hurt the chances of getting NHL. We already have that venue. Paul Allen is the only hurdle there or else we would already have a team.

Portland would fall in love with an NHL or MLB team

I'm just completely over the NBA. Until they loosen the rules on defense, and allow people to put their hands on guys like LeBron, the league will be a total joke to me.

MLB would be my choice, as ticket prices for families are more reasonable than NHL. Plus there would be dual support with schools & summer ball teams.

Can't overstate how cool it would be for Portland to host 180 major league games every year (41+41+81+17).

Best post so far today. Ive always thought since the changes that the D was at a real dis-advantage against the O, especially with super stars. Guys like Harden and James & Westbrook cant be touched.
Could you imagine guys like Stockton and Cooper defending Curry and Harden.
Its a joke that in the PRO Game of basketball, defenders cant get physical within reason with guys slashing or backing down without a foul being called.

I feel the same, but @dviss1 pointed out it is more on the refs than the rules, and I thought he made some decent points. Officiating in the NBA is just bad. The calls aren’t consistent, offensive players get away with a ton more than the defenders do usually, certain players are allowed to travel, foul, and do whatever while others aren’t.
It’s been that way for a long time, but it seems to get worse every year.

I think it's funny seeing people post how they are "done with the NBA" while at the same time the NBA has never been more popular.

It’s because they have made it about an entertainment, the basketball is on the side. It’s done ok for them though, but I think they have turned away quite a bit of fans who are looking for good competitive basketball though. I’m not done with the NBA but Definitely don’t like the officiating. Sometimes to get fans you gotta lose others I suppose.

Just because it's popular doesn't mean it's good.

Popular is based on market, not on taste.

It's definitely got a Close Encounters vibe to it....they should play those 3 notes from that movie before every game!

what's even funnier is that they claim that but yet they are still in this forum, discussing NBA basketball. There is no rule that says what team you have to root for. I was a huge Sixers fan before the NBA came to Portland. If I was so bothered by the team like some claim I would look for a team that makes me happy.
