    Now Im going to talk about which brand of summer sausage is the best. As far as big brands go I like hickory farms. But Olympia provisions in Portland makes a summer sausage which puts Hickory farms to shame.

    I did a short stint living in eastern Oregon, and I found the local butcher's elk sausage to be excellent. And the best smoked salmon I ever had I bought out of the back of some Native American dude's pickup truck over by bridge of the gods. Wet smoked of course. Man I love that stuff.

    Whenever I see a headline talking about a deal "waving the white flag," I always think of the White Flag Trade.

    That actually worked out for Chicago, as they gave up three declining vets and ended up with Keith Foulke, one of the most underrated relievers for about half a decade (until he won a Series with Boston).

    I had a good hunting season this year, harvested both a nice elk and a whitetail deer. Did not make any sausage this time. But made a lot of hamburger. I added bacon instead of beef or pork suet/fat. That's good eats.
