I really didn't see this coming, but I think it puts pressure on Delhomme because he struggled at times during last season. If Carr can have a good camp and start breathing down Delhomme's neck, it could be good for both QBs. Delhomme could perform better because of the pressure and Carr would learn alot from Delhomme in the process. A win-win situation, I feel.
I am very happy with this move. I think Jake will perform better with pressure behind him. Carr with a good offensive line in front of him can do great. And he is durable, because with all those hits he took and only not playing in 4 games of a 5 years span.
I think Carr might be the most sympathized for QB in the league. He really did get put in a terrible position in Houston. I'm kind of miffed that the Vikes didn't go after him, but certainly not surprised.
I'm really surprised there wasn't more interest in Carr. I figured Cleveland, Buffalo, Tampa Bay and Oakland would have all tried to make a play. As it was, it seemed that only Seattle and Carolina gave much chase. *shrug*
I think Oakland is all set. They will have Jamarcus Russell, Andrew Walter, and Lane Kiffin at QB this year.
Good for DC. How long until Berman christens him David Nas Carr? Think about it; you'll get it.
