    Michigan has lost its second defensive back in as many weeks.

    Sophomore safety Carvin Johnson, who started three games last season as a hybrid linebacker, has left the Wolverines, a football spokesman confirmed.

    Johnson is the biggest impact player to leave the Wolverines (No. 15 BCS, No. 13 AP) since the season began. The Metairie, La., native played in all eight games this season for Michigan, including assisting on a tackle Saturday against Purdue.
