<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Orlando, FL – The Pepsi Pro Orlando Summer League is typically held behind closed doors, exclusively for NBA personnel and the media. However, an 18-year-old phenom changed all of that this July. This was the main event, and this is what the fans wanted to see.

LeBron James, the #1 overall draft pick out of St. Vincent-St. Mary’s High School in Akron, Ohio, made his pro debut for Cleveland in front of 15,123 at the TD Waterhouse Centre in Game 3 of the Pepsi Orlando Pro Summer League. James finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists, helping the Cavaliers defeat the Orlando Magic, 107-80. Darius Miles and Carlos Boozer each netted 15 points to lead Cleveland.

The first period belonged to the Cavs. Cleveland outscored Orlando, 31-15, and shot 76.5 percent from the floor (13-of-17). James had an impressive opening stanza, scoring 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field, including a one-handed jam and an eye-opening, up-and-under scoop shot. Miles, Boozer and DeSagana Diop were a combined 8-of-8 from the floor.

Cleveland continued its hot shooting in the second quarter, while Orlando continued to struggle. Jerod Ward scored seven points during the frame, helping the Cavaliers’ advantage balloon to 20 points, 49-29, at halftime. James, Boozer and Miles all scored 10 points during the first half. The Magic shot just 29.0 percent from the field, hitting only 9-of-31 attempts from the floor.

Orlando’s Britton Johnsen brought the crowd to its feet midway through the third quarter, stealing a pass from James at midcourt, racing down the floor, then dunking on the 6-8 rookie with his right hand. Johnsen, a 6-10 forward from the University of Utah, scored 10 points for the Magic.

Bogans, who was selected 43rd overall by Milwaukee, then acquired later on draft night by the Magic, poured in 13 points during the third quarter, as Orlando tried to claw its way back into the game. The rookie from Kentucky led all scorers with 24 points. Cleveland kept the pressure on though, and held a commanding 74-56 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Cavs lead grew to as much as 29 points in the final stanza.

The Magic’s first round pick, guard Reece Gaines, had a solid effort in his first pro effort. He netted 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor and dished out five assists. Orlando takes on Detroit tomorrow at approximately 5 p.m. at the RDV Sportsplex (the rest of the summer league is closed to the public).

Britton Johnson will make our roster and play games(not be on the IL). I will predict 7ppg, 3 rpg, and 1.2 spg.

did you see him play? he played harder than anyone out there, and on top of that he posterized LeBron.

Never heard of him..but it is highly unlikely for a guy like that to produce 7PPG. straight away...this is only the summer league....it doen't mean much

Once again, Are you carzy? LeBron's head had become so big from all the hype, but thats the kind of thing that brings you down to earth............and he was so mad, I bet he was thinking "No one can dunk on me, im the chosen one".
