<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When Anderson Varejao crumpled to the floor, the fire that he felt in his left ankle was worse than any pain that he had felt in his life.

The high ankle sprain that he suffered Jan. 24, when teammate Lucious Harris fell and rolled on his ankle from behind, wiped out five weeks and 13 games of Varejao's rookie season. He returned to the Cavaliers lineup Monday in time to face the San Antonio Spurs, being activated from the injured list before the game.

He'll be on limited minutes until he gets into game shape and will be wearing a brace on the ankle for the foreseeable future.

``It was the worst injury I've ever had,'' the 22-year-old Brazilian said. ``I've rolled my ankle before, but nothing that made me miss five weeks.''

Varejao, a 6-foot-10 power forward, was just coming into his own before the injury. He was averaging 4.4 points and 4.6 rebounds but had been a force on the glass since the New Year. In fact, in the 10 games before he got hurt, six times he reached double figures in rebounds as a backup.

Though there were other factors, the Cavaliers were 6-7 while Varejao was out. They also signed replacement forwards to a total of three 10-day contracts in an attempt to help replace him.</div> Source
