This was a man of perspective. I enjoyed his work, I shall miss him. A man that was disappointed in Trump becoming President. But then, courteous and respectful when he did.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Krauthammer Krauthammer once described Conservative columnist, David Brooks, as a Moderate.
Like Reagan, he was never really a Democrat and had no conversion. He was a hard-right infiltrator who got a speechwriting job for a Democrat based upon his Ivy League degree. After he got that onto his resume, he could move on to do the same for Republicans.
Reading his book there were comments that he disliked the extreme left and the extreme right. At the time he became involved, he was considered more of a centerest, as were most Dems at the time. By todays standards obviously, he fits into the right. Here is an article you may enjoy https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...e-conservative-movement-with-their-conversion In his book he talks about this more in depth.
Huh? I first noticed him when he advocated torture, so he loved Bush. Newsweek used to devote its last page to a right-wing writer. Before him, it was Meg somebody. Or should I say nobody.
He was not evil, it’s sad for his family that he died, but his views were antithetical to mine and I believe his neoconservative views were harmful to the nation.
As were almost everyone in congress and the ensconced political machine in Washington at the time. Most of what Bush was blamed for was due to poor intelligence. As for advance interrogation, once again, most were in favor of it to get the info on the bad guys at the time. Do a little research and you will see he by no means pulling the cart.
He may have been behind the cart scooping up the horseshit, but he was definitely in the parade. barfo
And once again, I call bull shit. Check it out. The use of waterboarding did not become a big deal until 2012 https://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/06/...ng-by-cia-human-rights-watch-report-says.html This started the hard core turn around. During the 90s and 2000s, there was only minor resistance toward the practice, although most in the know found it to be effective, regardless of how the left wing reported it in the mid teens. So, how does that go?? Stuff your condescending attitude....naw, just sick of you talking out you ass, under the cover of mindless masses.
agree, but that is like saying that in the 60s so and so smoked pot...jeesh, not like he was the only guy in the parade lol
But not the people. Polls showed the vast majority against an Iraq war at first. Bush spent over a year of propaganda between Sept. 11 and the Iraq invasion. Even then, polls showed a bare majority against. Cheney reassigned CIA honchos who wouldn't change intelligence. Fake Israeli reports supplied the rest. It's all been reported many times. Bush knew he was lying as he said the lies, not later. As for torture, no, most Americans weren't in favor. Go out on the street anywhere, even the South, and take your own polls to confirm this. No. Among the media, he was the donkey pulling an empty cart. No one joined.
Much respect, you counter every statement. We do not invalidate each other, rather look st same situation from a different perspective. This is positive discourse.
