Went to dinner tonight at a restaurant adjoining Cherry Creek Mall. http://www.shopcherrycreek.com/ Anyway, I notice someone walk by me who looked really familiar, and then another equally familiar person. It turns out JJ Hickson took Will Barton and his brother to the mall to pick him up some stuff. Because I'm an ass, I went up and introduced my son to both of them. When I introduced my son to Will Barton, I said, "This is The People's Champ", which elicited a laugh from everyone. Anyway, both JJ and Will were very nice and commented on how much more passionate Blazer fans are than Nuggets fans. As an aside, I ran into Steve Blake at the Williams Sonoma shortly after he was traded to Denver years ago. Mind you, I never go to the mall, so my Cherry Creek Mall visits to Ex-Blazer sightings at said mall are pretty low.
Does it involve a police badge and a body cavity search? http://articles.latimes.com/2000/nov/11/sports/sp-50438
I've always liked JJ since he did that "Find JJ" thing when he first came to Portland. Found him at Pine State and took a pic with him.
I worked at the Cherry Creek Mall for a couple months when I was just out of High School and traveling one summer. Cool story about Will and JJ. Good to see them hanging out off court.
Maybe change the thread title. Given recent hyperbole from cowards urging nutjobs-at-large to attack malls, I expected this to be about a terrorist attack/attempt.
I just got a text from my wife that she's currently hanging out with Robin and some other famous non-Blazers...
