It would be tough to make it, but he may well be deserving. If he does, we likely have TWO all-stars in our backcourt. We have two all-star caliber players in the backcourt anyway :)

"The second-leading scorer last season among players who have never been an All-Star, McCollum faces an uphill battle given that his more accomplished backcourt mate Damian Lillard didn't even make the team last year."

Man, there are just so many good guards in the West. I can't imagine any coaches not voting for Dame this year after facing the wrath of Lillard last spring. CJ may have to wait a year or two.

Winning would help his case :)

Yeah. I hope that we are just so good next year that it forces the coaches to put two Blazers in the game.

Yep. If we're on a 55+ win pace (all season, not just after X-Mas) in January, it'll be hard not to consider CJ too. Though I have a feeling with Evan Turner as the steam valve on offense, both CJ and Dame will have slightly more relaxed stats (or, they'll have insanely high stats because they're wide open more... I haven't decided yet).

Winning is the only route for small market teams to get noticed.

    I think they'll both average 20+ again.

My hope is Turner steps up and has big games when the other guys are having an off night.

CJ doesn't flop enough to be an all star.

He and Crabbe just went to China to build their brands...you get enough Chinese fans your chance of becoming an allstar goes through the roof!

These type of questions are tricky though......just like you saw with Dame and the allstar game. You have to figure who ISN'T making it in order for our guy TO make it. Remember the only reason Dame is a two time all star according to the league is because of injuries to others.

They ought to hit up India and Pakistan while they're on the road.

If Dame wasn't an All-Star last year, I have a very hard time believing that CJ will be an All-Star this year.

We would have to win A LOT of games for them both to make it.

Yi is taking a spot this year. Even if he's a big.

Fwiw Kobe was also voted a forward last year.

Dame's getting in this year, but CJ doesn't have the clout yet. Gonna take multiple winning seasons to get in.

If Klay's numbers go down because of KD, CJ will likely take his spot.

The only way CJ makes it is if Dame does not. Two Portland guards will not be chosen by the coaches in the West.

I guess if there is a shit load of injuries there is a possibility.

    Possible. Not likely.

Would be VERY cool, even though the whole All-Star Weekend is almost as big a farce as international ball...

Doesnt have to happen to mean that. he already is better. The only thing Klay is better at is the outside shot.
