So I've been checking up on Tim Quarterman in the D-League and he's been totally overshadowed by ex-Blazer Cliff Alexander. Here's his latest performance. Is it just me or does he (a) look a lot skinnier, and (b) have more moves (and a three point shot!)?

Somebody's going to give him another chance soon.
(Quarterman has looked better than RJ Hunter, which makes me sad. From NCAA hero to out-of-the-league in pretty short order.)

He would fit nicely with Nurk. We will need some more size with Davis out and Meyers .....out of it.

It would be a bit sad if we cut Quarterman to sign him... because we'd seen him play because of Quarterman.

Who did we cut Cliff for last time? I don't recall off the top of my head.

Shabazz Napier seems to have improved. I would not have much of a problem of cutting Quarterman to sign Cliff. In fact, I would probably do that one if I was in charge.

Pat C is on the roster for whatever reason. Tell this kid to go play baseball before it is too late. Meyers should go play volleyball too, that way we won't have to watch him half jump for rebounds that don't happen. Fake jumps fit in volleyball.

They still thought Ezeli would play this season before they cut Cliff.....he played well in the last D league game but actually I watched him play earlier in D league and he didn't do much.

Yep. Cut him over the summer to sign Ezeli. Will still be a good idea if we can trade Ezeli during draft. Otherwise it sucks.

I was a fan of Alexander. Young guy with a ton of talent.

Next year I believe the new CBA allows teams to keep 17 players under contract, with 2 in the D(G)-League. Who to cut to make room?

    Here's our current roster:
    (G) Damian Lillard, 6-3, 26 yrs
    (G) CJ McCollum, 6-4, 25 yrs
    (G) Allen Crabbe, 6-6, 24 yrs
    (G) Shabazz Napier, 6-1, 25 yrs
    (G) Tim Quarterman, 6-6, 22 yrs (non-guaranteed)
    (G) Pat Connaughton, 6-5, 24 yrs (non-guaranteed)

    (G-F) Evan Turner, 6-7, 28 yrs

    (F) Mo Harkless, 6-8, 23 yrs
    (F) Al-Farouq Aminu, 6-10, 27 yrs
    (F) Noah Vonleh, 6-9, 21 yrs
    (F) Jake Layman, 6-9, 22 yrs

    (F-C) Meyers Leonard, 7-1, 25 yrs

    (C) Jusuf Nurkic, 6-11, 22 yrs
    (C) Ed Davis, 6-10, 27 yrs
    (C) Festus Ezeli, 6-11, 27 yrs ($1M guaranteed)

    1st Round Draft Choice (#13)
    1st Round Draft Choice (#23)
    1st Round Draft Choice (#28)

We've got 15 guys under contract, with 3 1st round draft choices. We really only need to make two cuts to make room for Alexander.

I'd cut Connaughton (non-guaranteed), and Ezeli (Lux tax issues) and look to draft one guard and 2 bigs.

Keep in mind that Alexander is still only 21 years old.

Bring him back pls. He can be that junkyard dog either off the bench or next to Nurk.

Some of you as fans need to start thinking of adding better talent to our bench rotation than guys like Alexander.

I'm fucking tired of being this team. Suck or be great. This shit isn't getting it done. NO needs to figure out a way to take the next step. So far he has failed miserably

He was traded to Long Island for a 3rd round pick.....says something...word is he lacks footwork and finesse but is fast and strong. He did nothing for us in summer league....I think Vonleh would school him. Layman might school him....I don't see a rotation player in Cliff Alexander yet..

I lobbied for a Nurk trade and he has surprised me how fast he has fit in and frankly how good he has been. Now we have to either dratf or trade for a PF that will fit well with him and a better backup C than Meyers (that should not be difficult)

Assuming i was speaking to you is quite bold.

So me wanting to win a championship instead of getting excited to sign a d league scrub like Cliff Alexander is being negative?

Interesting. Its like your way of thinking or the highway, right?

You were speaking to the people in the thread that wanted cliff Alexander, right? So, I'm included in that. Feel free to clarify who you were speaking to though.

Saying Olshey has "failed miserably" after he acquires a guy like Nurkic? Now THAT is quite bold.

You're probably right: I remember thinking he was pretty BBIQ-challenged. HOWEVER, he does have ridiculously long arms, and he is just 21 still.

    Here's his player page: http://dleague.nba.com/player/cliff-alexander/

The D-League is the 6'8" and below rat ball league. Also, why does it always seem that our guys that we send to the D-League are putting up their highlights while being blown out by 20?
