I guess to some you're only as good as your last 40pt game or 4 game win streak...lose a couple in a row and the torches and pitchforks come out..CJ to his credit is sharing the scoring load big time with the bench and his teammates more than he ever has before. He's getting steals and trying to pass with mixed results but the effort is there. I'll always believe he's a Jason Terry or Jamal Crawford 6 man of the year kind of guy but with Turner it's worked out even better resting him and Dame together. We have an interesting roster to mix and match game to game

I think he's much better than either of those two guys were. I don't see him as a 6th man.

I think he's better than they both are/were as well and he's a starter ….his whole career I've seen him as a bench sparkplug scorer which we hadn't really had since Mo Williams...now we have bench scoring..hence..interesting roster and benefits of resting him and Dame together as I mentioned. I prefer a 3 and serious D 2 guard starting and a scoring 2 guard off the bench. Fortunately we have scoring off the bench now

I prefer that too, but I still like a lethal scoring 2-guard in that starting lineup. I like having a bench that doesn't focus on one guy and plays well together (like our bench is right now).

Really when it comes down to it I've nothing to complain about when it comes to this Blazer roster. It really seems built for the modern game after all.

Congrats, CJ. Well deserved, even if Donte Divincenzo needs to receive mental therapy as a result.

CJ's kind of quietly gotten out of his shooting slump. He's had better weeks, but he deserved the award.

I agree and especially seeing as how that would leave us one less bonafide scoring option that could break down the defense and get his own shot. Teams would heavily double Lillard to get the ball out of his hand.

    Over who?

Dame, Curry, Westbrook and Harden are going to be there for sure, Derozan is very likely as well. That's 5 guards right there from 12 spots leaving 7 spots for Forwards and Centers (Durant, AD, Lebron, PG13? Joker, Green?, KAT?, Gobert?)

This means that CJ will have to get over Klay, Jamal Murray, Lou Williams, Mitchell, maybe CP3 if for some reason there are less than 7 Forwards/Centers and they forget that there are players on Memphis and SAC which play well so far as well

The Blazers will have to win like crazy and CJ will have to score like a maniac to get there, imho. He is an All Star level player that will not get there unless the Blazers win at an astonishing pace or next year if they go deep in the playoffs and he is the main reason for it, the pool is very deep in the west.

Even then it would be hard. CP3 did not make it last year and HOU had the best record in the league.

Nice work, CJ! I’m glad he’s playing himself out of the funk he started the season in.

Chris Paul only played 58 games last season though.

    Being injured matters.

I know I’ve been a major CJ hater, but he deserves his props. His improved court awareness is noticeable and he is actually playing some defense too... as long as the Blazers keep winning I will stop bashing CJ and talking trades... I’m lovin the way this team is playing right now

I did not remember that. That's a fair point.
