I don't kiss and tell.

 

If I was convinced covid was as big of a threat to children as many people seem to be, my kid would be nowhere near a school. Seems completely contradictory to me to be hysterical about covid while simultaneously and willingly throwing one’s children into a petrie dish of viral spread.

 

A few things. It isn’t easy. Also, he had Covid a few months ago. 4 of us are vaxxed. He isn’t. He wears a mask the entire day except lunch and they aren’t near each other. Recess etc all masked. It’s not ideal but and this is the main thing. After 18 months at home and online it was becoming more unhealthy for young kids to stay home than go back. In my opinion. If there is an outbreak then sure they stay home. If one kid is positive and they inform his class and friends that’s about all we can do at this point.

 

Florida is now reconsidering all vaccine mandates. Measles, rubella, polio, all. West Palm Beach County no longer requires quarantine for students with Covid.

 

Exactly. It ain’t easy. But we haven’t really been provided an alternative to in-person learning. There is not a real option for distance learning in our district. Mask up for everything all day, everyday, except lunch. But there’s no intermingling of classrooms. Lunch happens in the classroom. Recess/breaks are amongst the classes.

 

Modern life at times feels too complicated. So many options, so many choices.

I would like to thank the government of Florida for making sure I do not ever, even if drunk in stupor or observing dwarfs coming out of my rear end after enjoying some magic mushrooms - consider going to their lovely slice of hell.

 

Oddly, until Gov. Brown's recent edict, Oregon was one of two states where health care workers could not be mandated by their employer to be vaccinated. I didn't have time to research the history behind it all.

I have yet to see anybody hysterical about covid-19 other than doctors or families of the deceased.

This could be over and done with by now. Not enough of us did our part, so now we'll have to deal with the aftermath.

 

No wonder healthcare in this state has been so shitty compared to the rest of the country...

The sane doctors got the hell out of here.

 

The virus will just continue to mutate and it will come and go in cycles. We will likely just have to learn to live with it. Unfortunately, We just can’t learn about the virus fast enough.

 

We know enough to know that if everyone were vaccinated the virus would be stopped.

No more pandemic.

 

Yeah but in this reality that’s just not going to happen. That’s why it’s always like the virus is always one step ahead and that’s the problem.

 

Yes. And as you say, it will remain one step ahead. Because we're actively being held back by deliberate ignorance and religion.

I try to be tolerant of religion, but it's being used as a tool to hold us back. It's getting really old...

 

How can you say it would be eliminated? There is no basis for that statement. They can’t even decide how many booster shots we’ll need and you’re suggesting the vaccine is a cure. Many fully vaccinated people are even foregoing boosters at this point because they feel mislead by the claims of the supposed efficacy of the original inoculations.

 

Because if all of these people were fully vaccinated hospitals would be at normal levels. Almost nobody would be dying. Threat gone. Pandemic over. Life could continue as normal.
