I wonder if there's a statue to be torn down. That Stevens guy was a bad, bad dude.

For the record, I don't really give a rip if Stevens was a bad due, or not:

It wouldn't affect my going to, camping, or otherwise @ Ft. Stevens State Park. I was being entirely facetious in my earlier remarks. And I know @SlyPokerDog knows that...because he knows me! LOL :)

most white folks choose to ignore social issues that have not disenfranchised them persoanlly....I don't personally give a rip what white people think of when emulating historical figures that propped up white power grabs in our history. Nor where you choose to go camping.....If Stevens had been a muslim like Saddam Hussein...you'd probably cheer when the statue came down...the american revolution toppled many statues of British commanders and King George.....people forget that patriotic episode in our history.....Trump only wants to topple the statue of liberty...I'm not being facetious and Sly knows me too....wouldn't end this discussion with lots of laughs either....not a good look...you actually quote your own posts?

The only real reason I commented on the park is because @Hoopguru recently visited there, and @SlyPokerDog commented that he really enjoyed the park, as well. Obviously, I was making a silly, yet poor, attempt in response. That all said, I'll continue to enjoy Ft. Stevens Park, myself, thank-you-very-much, without much regard to the deep history of the place. I'll be certain to bury my head in the sand when I visit the beaches there.

Well, hey... I guess that's a proverbial step up from burying it in your ass, as per usual!

Really excited to see how much the Regeneron antibody treatment lowers mortality rate on top of the improvements we've seen. I think at this point, we just have to hope for consistently improving treatment since too many Americans are being careless and it's difficult to shut things down a 2nd time. Just hoping we can continue to move forward due to somewhat mitigated danger from infection and (hopefully) people wearing masks.

The real concern is what will some of these hot spots be like in a few weeks that have recently been exposed due to reopening prematurely? Usually it's about 2 weeks for symptoms to appear and test positive (we have been seeing a huge rise in cases) and now we have another 2 weeks before the hospitalizations and deaths. It's great that we are seeing some declines but we are a ways off from this crap being under control despite what flavor bubblegum pence and trup are trying to blow up our butts.

If those that are high risk are protected first and others take precautions, the death rate should drop hopefully. And hopefully there will be more meds that can help while an attempt at a vaccine is pursued.

Definitely, and that's what is missing (or more likely, purposefully lying about). "Cases are rising but our deaths arent, so were doing a great job!" It's good that mortality rate is going down. Thing is, the totals arent...
