I gotta ask, if they are predicting "350,000 people will be infected in Wuhan alone", what good is only 1000 beds?

    Surgical masks are for wimps.

I heard corona virus victims just had headaches and a couple of other things, but I would say and I can report that it’s not very serious.

Just watched a report snuck out of Wuhan. I believe it to be creditable, but can not confirm the info I am posting.

The individual reports conditions are much worse than being reported by China gov.

Since all transportation in many areas has be halted. Many sick people have no way to get to a hospital. The emergency call # is down/overloaded. So no ambulance service for most sick people.

People that make it to a hospital on their own, wait hours in a long line. Then when they finally do talk to medical staff, supplies to test for the virus have run out. The sick are sent home with only cold meds.

He believes the # of infected with the virus is much higher than reported.

A side note about the masks everyone now wears. If a person has the virus, wearing a mask will help some to stop spreading the virus. But if the virus is in the air, the masks will not stop the virus from entering new victims. Some air does get in due to a poor fit on the sides. Plus there are questions if the masks filters out all of the virus? A better mask may be required to be protected.

Most of the new infections come from tiny droplets of body fluids from such actions as coughing. A mask helps dramatically.

All VA hospitals have masks available in open dispensers throughout the hospital and people who cough are strongly encouraged to grab a mask if they cough no matter the reason for the cough. A mask puts people at ease concerning whatever infectious diseases people have will get an attenuated rate of spreading to people nearby.

Agreed. Wearing a mask of most any kind makes a difference. Also, it is just as important if not more so, to wash your hands more often or use a hand sanitizer more often. And avoiding being around other people also makes a big difference.

"Dr. Mark Loeb, an infectious disease specialist at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, said a study during an outbreak of the SARS coronavirus found that any type of protection — whether a mask or a respirator — reduced the risk of infections in health care workers by about 85 percent.

“The most important message was that the risk was lower if they consistently used any mask,” he said.

It's no wonder...I saw a report/video of that market...zero sanitation. Blood, guts, animal parts lying around all over the place. At most, at the end of each day, they may/may not hose down the street.

The kung flu is scary. I really hope it's more lack of care than sorry you're fucked that is causing deaths.

Untill they figure out the source of this virus. I'm giving up eating rattlesnake soup and beavertail tacos. But....

Since the virus enters new victims through the lungs, and not what people are eating. I believe they are looking at the wrong end for the largest fuel source transmitting the virus. I'm guessing eating kale is spreading the virus.
