No breaks in the schedule for the Bravos, who now get to travel to the lovely city of Chicago to visit the Cubs. I wouldn't be surprised if they get rained out tonight. 5/13: Lopez (2-1, 1.53) vs Imanaga (5-0, 1.02) 5/14: Sale (5-1, 2.95) vs Taillon (3-0, 1.13) 5/15: Morton (3-0, 3.14) vs Assad (3-0, 1.70) Those Cubs starters' pitching numbers are insane. I have a bad feeling about this. This is exactly what our already-anemic offense does not need to encounter.
The guys handled that about as well as I could possibly have hoped. Hang in long enough to get to the Cubs' bullpen and hope to score late. And Zack Short comes up clutch again. Certainly not something we can count on, but love to see it.
Looking nice tonight. Bats ALIVE in the 4th, and Sale absolutely cruising through 7. Always loved the Cubs, but happy to see them getting waxed today.
Grew up in Chicago hating the Cubs. Still do. So always happy to see them lose to my Braves, especially if it can be a sweep and can talk trash to old friends.
Over-40 Morty didn't do us any favors tonight though. Got shelled in the first. Hopefully he's got that out of his system and can hold things in check to give the bats a chance.
