The Chicago Cubs drafted the son of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky in the seventh round of the baseball draft on Tuesday.

Trevor Gretzky, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound first baseman at Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, Calif., was drafted with the 219th overall selection by the Cubs. Gretzky has committed to play baseball under Tony Gwynn at San Diego State.

"We were all sitting around the kitchen on the computer and listening to the radio," Gretzky said. "It was just awesome when we heard. I really didn't have any expectations. I'm so just so grateful I was picked."

hm, i wonder what the scouting report on him is.

if he's got 1/10th the talent in baseball that his dad had in hockey, the Cubs just got a steal.

That was the HS football team that had Will Smith's son, Wayne Gretzky's son and Joe Montana's son all playing for them.
