Looking through the list of current NBA free agents for guys with former ties to the Blazers, I come up with this list of guys who haven't yet hooked up with a new NBA team:

    Jeff Ayers
    Steve Blake
    JJ Hickson
    Chris Kaman
    Andre Miller
    Thomas Robinson

    Did I miss anyone?
Is Blakey finally done or just waiting for a call?
Are these the dog days of summer? (YES)

Do any of these guys actually have a radio voice? I assume you put this together to try to narrow down the color commentator? Though if so, maybe should have been in that thread?

Of those, only Andre Miller should get a call from anyone.

That lineup feels a lot like our 2012 "fuck it, fire the coach" lineup.

You assume too much, OB. I doubt any of these guys has much to offer in the way of being a color commentator. Just put this thread down to idle curiosity and summer boredom.

Well considering you didn't specify what you were looking for, since you didn't say or ask if we should bring them back on the roster or anything...

SO yes, I assumed, but I don't think I assumed too much.
I mean your header is Current FA's with ties to Portland without a job.

FA's who have once been here but are no longer here, but have ties to Portland. Is basically the essence of what people are looking for in the color commentator.

Not a far stretch at all to assume you were using these names as potential color com. Just sayin'...

Even though every one of them I liked, they are Blazers has beens... :)

I get it though. This is basically a "where are they now" thread.

I can see why you'd assume that...it just wasn't what I was thinking when I posted this thread. It was more just to notice that there are some guys we used to root for who are either at the end of their careers or just still waiting for a call.

Of those guys, Blake is the only one I can see as a possible commentator and even he is a bit too taciturn for that kind of a job. Kaman has the personality but suffers from being a bit too crazy, IMHO. Miller's kind of a shrinking violet and I don't think he has any real connection to the community. TRob and Ayers are too marginal of players. Hickson's got a job, just not in the NBA.

Poor TRob, even the Sixers and Nets didn't want to keep him.

Any of them would be better than Antonio Harvey.
