From everything I've learned of him I've decided theres zero chance he will play productive minutes for our team this season. Would we want to set aside a roster spot for him next year? That seems like an awful lot to invest in a player that doesn't have elite athleticism or NBA skills. I'd rather the Blazers keep both Pressey and Frazier or some other player on the roster. Back in the summer I was intrigued by this guys potential but I've lost all interest in keeping him. Its helpful to have competent players in practice and discussing the game. But with Luis the players would be spending time going over basics. It brings down the collective intelligence of the team. Neil go ahead and cut this guy.

Are there links saying he doesn't know the basics?

The 15th guy on a lottery team SHOULD be a raw lottery ticket prospect type.

Now, I think we have a few too many 15th guys, but fuck it.

I agree, we already have 3 SFs in Harkless, Aminu and Crabbe, we don't need a 4th stringer. More important to have 3 PGs.

After the first preseason game seeing Pressy and Frazier together on the floor I decided I never want to see that again...cut one of them

He would be my choice to cut as well. However I am not at practice and have no way of truly seeing his long term potential. But I am not sure he even has a position yet. He looks like an extreme long shot to make the NBA.

I think we need 3 PG's and I do not count CJ as one of them. I say we keep Frazier and Pressey.

After the first preseason game, should we really make any conclusions?
And I doubt they will ever be playing together in a real game.

Personally, I'd keep Montero as our backup PG. He has length and can handle the ball. Not really impressed with Frazier or Pressy, they are 3rd string PGs. I'd rather take the gamble as Montero probably has a higher ceiling.

If Olshey's made the decision already, we need to get someone else to do that job, and fast!

I would keep him. We don't need Pressey AND Frazier.

Good article on him, and I'm starting to agree that maybe he just isn't good enough. Didn't know he and Vonleh knew each other.

It just doesn't sound like there is much there given the language barrier and the lack of basketball experience.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to cut Montero and one of Pressey/Frazier to leave an open spot and let the coaches focus on guys that are going to stay. Montero might work out some year, but in the mean time he is going to take a lot of work from one of your assistants.

I like the idea of giving the kid a year in an NBA environment to see if he can develop.

Honestly I see him being cut either way. Maybe not immediately. But I could see Montero, Johnson and pressey being cut. Then they sign someone who is a surprise cut from another team

I have thought about that as well. I think our back up PG could very well come from a surprise cut. And if that happens, that is when ether Pressey or Frazier will get cut.

Don't be suprise if both get cut and NO signing someone outside team right now. But by game 4 we need to start seeing who is in the rotation and going be on this team.

That's a good point. There's still a very good chance that he moves Kaman + ??? for something that is actually useful.

You know, you only need one preseason game to see that. It's not like there's 6 preseason games remaining.

We need to cut two people. Omari Johnson and Pressey seem like the two obvious choices. Johnson looked horrendous.
