Poor dame. Could u really even be mad if he asked for a trade ? I’d be sad as hell but I wouldn’t blame him
Stop. He can't be traded anyway and even if he could he's locked up for 6 seasons. It's not happening.
Nope, at least not until July. But he's not a baby like Aldridge so he won't want to leave when the going gets tough.
I dont think it’ll happen and I realize he cant be traded til next summer, but this is how the story starts for most Stars that ask out. You play them into the ground they start getting banged up trying to solo will their teams night in and night out. They eventually start to get older and have to make a decision as to whether they think they can win in the situation their in or not, and if the toll on their body is worth it. Again, before people jump on me I believe Dame when he says he’s not gonna ask out, I believe he’s going to be a life long Blazer as long as the choice is his to make.
Well you work with him to find him a good fit. We get pieces back and build around Simons. It’s sad but Lillard deserves better
I've been frustrated and wanted the whole team traded (the New Orleans series especially), but here's the problem. In 5-6 years you'll be saying Simons deserves better trade him, then they'll get another good player and we can rinse and repeat. Yes it can be smart to know when to press the reset button, on a year, or a group of players, or a player, but at the same time Dame just got to the WCF's and were a dozen or so games into the season and now we're saying he "deserves" better. Simons has barely played, we don't know if he'll ever be half the player Dame is today. It's silly to trade a star in their prime with the only reason being, "he deserves better". If he wants to stick it out and isn't asking out, you keep the superstar talent you have because finding a guy that good is incredibly hard to do, it's easier to build a team around Dame, then hope that a ton of things go right and that in YEARS all those things fell into place and you make a magical run.
That's what makes Dame different and special. True leaders don't take the easy way out when times get tough.
