Suspend me, ignore me, whatever, I am going to start a new thread every day, I remember to, until Dame or someone in the organization calls him out on his defensive effort.

It's ridiculous that the clear leader of this team completely mails it in on 1/2 the possessions in a game. He knows our defensive effort needs vast improvement, yet as our leader he refuses to step up his game on that end of the floor.

It us unacceptable to me, and should be to all of you as well. Lower your fucking shot attepts, and exert that energy on defense instead. Because of rebounds, steals, etc, he'll actually get some easy baskets

This should happen anyway. Take the month of March and try to focus on running the offense and setting up teammates (especially the ones in the frontcourt) without calling his own number unless he gets a wide open lane or catch-and-shoot opportunity. You know, like a point guard. And then, yeah, focus more on stopping his man then trying to score on him.

Sounds like a fantastic experiment for the rest of this basically wasted season.

My god he was atrocious on defense against the Pistons. Even Nurk was visibly pissed about it. Ish freaking Smith was lighting his ass up.

Unfortunately Dame will never be good at defense. He's almost 27 and if you can't figure it out after 6 years in the league it's probably not going to happen.

I'm obsessed with this team winning before I die. Do you, or anyone at one center court, think it's possible with this teams perieter defense? Just fucking trying would help so much

He can hold him accountable, title of the thread. There is no excuse for him being that bad.

The simple answer, he's just an above average PG in this league whose defense is pathetic and his leadership skills are overrated.

Based on the past, I don't think Dame thinks of this as a wasted season. He still hopes for the playoffs and thinks the best chance for this team is him going all out on offense.

He's put up 32/7/6 on 50 % shooting from both the field and 3 since the AS break. Pretty nasty. But the defense is definitely still trash

I think he's trying. He just doesn't know how to do it. He takes the absolute worst angle while getting around picks.

Anyone with the strength he has to finish around the basket and the quickness to blow by people over and over again should not be THIS BAD on the defensive end. I'm not saying he has to be a lock-down defender...those are rare. But to on an almost nightly basis get torched or give up season highs to someone he should be dominating is worrisome and this isn't new.

Dame is a very good PG....on the offensive end. If that were the entire game, it wouldn't be such a big issue. As for the shot selection, the shot at the end of the 1st half tells a lot where his mindset is. A leaning sideways 28'er after dribbling for 22 seconds. A terrible shot on any level.

I don't think we are talking about the same thing. Or at least I hope we aren't.

Dame is a great player and has improved many parts of his game. He is sooooo much better at finishing at the rim this year because he worked on it all summer. This summer he needs to focus on the defense. I don't care who is coaching, this team will never be a contender as long as everyone knows all you have to do is put in your quickest PG and let him feast on Dame's apathetic defense.

You make all-star games and one of the all NBA teams by playing offense not defense and he knows that so why play it this is his thought process. There is all defense team but that team is not want make you have these over paid contracts. Then you have a coach think the same way that offense is more important of the game and that his state of mind. Bottom line we properly wont have contending team until we get a coach holds players accountable what they do on the court. Old saying is nice guys finish last. This why warriors Cleveland the Spurs always have chance at the ring because there coach hold there players accountable for there play.

I think defensively he's thrown in the towel (on the season), but still is trying offensively.

Why? Offense is easier to concentrate on, especially given how much more glamorous it is.
