There is so much talent specifically defensive talent in this years free agent class that would be amazing to see in Blazer Unis.

PG Patrick Beverly with Dame locked in as the starter adding a feisty defender like Beverly to back him up would be a wise move.

SG Jimmy Butler or Wesley Matthews Odds are we resign Matthews for around 4 years 48 million if he cannot be had signing someone like Butler to replace him would be a major coo, damn you restricted free agency.

SF Kawhi Leonard One of the best defenders in the league and someone who is continuing to improve offensively he is what we hoped Batum would be, once again damn you restricted free agency.

PF Draymond Greene Dude is a do it all type defender who is not a complete joke on offense. He is a great role player that immediately makes any team better. Alas he won't leave Golden State because like Butler and Leonard he is a damn restricted free agent.

C Marc Gasol I do not think of a way I see Gasol leaving Memphis but if he would consider a move we should be there with bells on. His high post passing, solid offense and great defense have him as one of the best centers in the league.

What do think guys add those 5 to Lillard, McCollum and Leonard. That would be a pretty impressive unit. Too bad restricted free agency is messing it all up.

I don't know if I could tolerate PBev as a Blazer, I hate that mother lover.

Apparently people don't want to talk free agency yet.

First off They need to get the players they have that they want to keep back first. Then look into what they are willing to pay Wes. There is very little possibility that he gets anything like a 4 year deal this year. 2 year would be a little more realistic. As a matter of fact he will probably never get a 4 year deal again but will most likely live the rest of his days in the NBA on 2 year deals unless he shows no loss of ability whatsoever.
Next Getting Marc Gasol ain't happening. Not this year or pretty much ever unless Paul wants to carry 3 max contracts which would be sweet and really not way out of the question for a guy like him but he would still have to convince him to come here.
The rest of the problems you covered pretty well.

So you think it's all clear, cut & dry they choose Wes over Afflalo should they have to?

Even worse, none of these players are free. Why do people say they're free when we have to pay them? Makes no sense.

Afflalo has to opt out first which he looked like a lock to do but now may wait due to how he has ended the year and the fact there will be more money next off season.

Theres a ton of talent on your list but RFA or not the only player I see realistically leaving their team would be Beverly and screw that guy.
Everyone else is in a good situation and there haven't been reports of any of them wanting out of their current stations.

    Absolutely.

But they don't have to choose.

It's like asking whether I have to choose between Fruit Loops or Milk. I can have both, and they are better together.

Offer Draymond Green the max. Do it. GSW will be hardpressed to match.

They should choose though, especially with CJ's emergence. Pick Wes and move on already. No point paying Afflalo 8-10 million to play 12 MPG.

if only we could sign all of the top max contract players this off season. I was just thinking that. Sign max offers with every player in the league even. Fuck.

    Damn you restricted free agency!!!

People keep saying that GSW would be hardpressed to match. Why wouldn't the owner go deep into the luxery tax for their most important defensive player on a team that just won damn near 70 games.

With the cap going up it would be a 1 year lux tax bill most likely also. Really no need to be cheap at this point.
