Yeah, I could see how a guy with no defense, a me-first shooting attitude, a penchant for over dribbling and a massive ego could really fit in as a backup on that team.

If I were Phoenix I'd go with Barbosa.

    You forgot undersized.

I actually always like Damon, but call me crazy, I don't think he's the missing piece for the Suns right now. The need someone who plays more like Andre Miller, Damon is always looking for his shot and the Suns have so many big scorers as it is.

Shaq does like Damon a lot though if I recall correctly. He was very complimentary of him when we were rivals with them way back when.

When we beat LA back then, it was usually because of Damon stepping up.

Maybe the Suns want to play LB alongside Nash as a starter?

In favor of Richardson? If Damon gets picked up he's only going to be getting spot minutes, maybe 10 a game if he's lucky.

As most of you know I've always been a Damon fan :) and i hope he gets back into the league with a decent team. He's had some pretty disappointing moments of stupidity etc but also has done some wonderful things for the community and charity - good luck Damon!

Maybe they are turning the reins over to LB and trading Nash?

Damon would be the perfect backup for him.

Considering the guys Phoenix is working out, according to the Arizona Republic:

    Darrell Armstrong
    Dee Brown
    Eddie Gill
    Troy Hudson
    Walker Russell Jr.
    Damon Stoudamire

They could do a lot worse. Damon's sort of relegated to what Kenny Anderson's career became at the end, just a veteran backup PG. I think he wouldn't be that bad of a pickup for Phoenix. They need depth, Dragic ain't cutting it for 10-15 mins per game.
