Rob Babcock on the Swirsk Show this afternoon said has brought a vet pg into the picture... rumours has it that it is Darrick Martin. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/darrick_martin/?nav=page discuss... ;wink:
yup, its done... Rob Babcock signed him. www.raptors.com I have barely ever heard about him so i dont really know what to expect.
I remember him from when I first started liking basketball, If Im not mistaken he once played for the Wolves. I think they should've brought in a Center, waste of a roster spot at this point, they should've made a trade or something if they just wanted to fill that roster spot, but not wasted a spot on an old player who's not going to do much. Alvin is the man, and I cant wait till he's back. I think my opinion may be because of the Alvin Fan that I am, but I still think he's a scrub at this point.
Alvin now has bone spurs and won't be back into an active role probably for another month. Bringing Martin in was a smart decision, it allows Mitchell to play James and Calderon together in the backcourt so that the team won't have to worry about who'll come in at point when both these two are out of the game. Solid third string PG, and from what he's doing so far, Martin looks like a pass-first guy.
Martin's the shiznit. I hope I dont see a lot of him, because the last I saw him in Minny, he wasn't that good. Decent 3rd option though.
maybe mitchell has something to do with this signing... i believe mitchell and martin played together in minny...
It looks like they just grabbed some dude out of the Sprite Zone and stuck a Raps jersey on him. At one point I saw Martin fall down and he failed on his first attempt to get up.
Martin and Mitchell used to play on the Twolve together so I think that Sam had alot to do with this signing but its good now James and Calderon can play together more.
