Yep. Time to say it. Łukasz Fabiański deserves an apology.

He is not terrible. In fact he can be quite good. In recent games he has made few mistakes--perhaps less than the average keeper--and put up some great performances. While his decision making is still an area needing improvement it seems that is something that will come with experience and maturity. In the meantime he is a good shot stopper, seems to have good instincts regarding where the ball will be sent, and has weathered tremendous criticism to emerge as a reliable keeper.

Sorry, Łukasz Fabiański. Keep it up, lad. Arsene's faith in you hasn't been misplaced but the scorn of Arsenal fans has been.

Not sure why you picked that picture, makes him look like he has Downs.

Anyway, I agree. Fantastic performances recently, keep it up. I'm sure you have an account here on S2.

Nah, you were right the first time, he's not good enough for us to win the title.

He's always been a good shot stopper, but was awful under crosses, and had massive brain fades.

Recently he's improved dealing with crosses (now that he's decided to punch), but still suffers from some horrendus brain fades.

It is true that he gets out of position and gambles too much on set pieces but that is true of our entire team. Once our defenders get organized--and Fabianski should develop some generalship in this regard--I think he will be able to settle down more. He also needs to time and position his leaps a bit better as he tends to miss or get bumped off the ball a little.

But as I said before I don't think, right now, he is more or less accident prone than the typical keeper. And recently he's been making few mistakes.

I don't want him to be our long-term solution. I want Tex to play for the first-team.

FWIW, Fabianski's saved shot percentage is #1 or #2 in the BPL right now (84%) depending on whether the three goals Cech let in yesterday have been accounted for.

Very interesting. Looking forward to seeing if he keeps up the good work.
