    so for now we got

    PG- Lillard, Napier, Quarterman

    SG- McCollum, Crabbe, Connaughton

    SF- Harkless, Turner, Layman

    PF- Vonleh, Aminu, Swanigan

    C- Nurkic, Collins, Davis, Leonard

It'd be great if we used our surplus of bigs to get another shooter but I'll take dumping Leonard on someone as well.

It just hit me while looking at this.....I've never seen a more mediocre-potential roster in my life. Besides Dame, CJ, and Nurk....with a splash of Harkless......there's pretty much nobody else on this roster who makes a significant impact.

Collins will be our starting PF. He is going to be a nightmare.

    I like this rotation

    Dame
    CJ
    Harkless
    Collins
    Nurk
    Crabbe
    Turner
    Aminu
    Vonleh
    Davis

Wouldn't be surprised if Swanigan beat out Vonleh for minutes. That's gonna be a battle.

I don't know how we're going to get rid of Leonard. My guess is we'll have to take some salary back but hopefully it's someone that can actually help (shooter)

Having 3 impact players with the rest being role players isn't bad. And we just drafted the white KAT!

Here's my guess at mid-season rotation/depth chart (based upon roster as it stands today 6/23)

    Lillard - McCollum - Harkless - Collins - Nurkic

Turner subs mainly for Lillard but a little for CJ. Crabbe subs for CJ and Harkless. Collins slides up and is backup to Nurk.
Vonleh & Aminu gets some minutes too.

That's true of pretty much every team in the NBA other than the Warriors. Frankly, I'd take this Blazers bench over the Cavs'.

I don't think Collins will sniff a starting job until after the allstar break at the soonest if then ..he'll be like Joel Freeland was behind Rolo....Vonleh was beasting with Nurk going into the playoffs...people forget how good he ended the season without any plays run for him at all

    Hello darkness, my old friend
If Olshey and the Blazers really are set on Collins being a center and mostly backing Nurkic up, then I think the trade and draft pick were a waste. My hope (and expectation), though, is that they eventually start working Collins in as a full-time power forward who can also swing to the 5 at certain times.

Agreed. You don't trade two first round picks for a guy you expect to be a backup. Could have had a backup C just as easily at 15 or 20.

The Cavs are going to lose some bench players this offseason but plenty of vets will play there for a pack of chewing gum anyway

I think they will use him in a Duncan type center role...power forward who can play in the paint..we will only have one traditional center...everyone else will be a pf or a stretch 4

I'm just saying that Olshey may be trying to temper expectations by saying that he's going to be a backup. They can't truly envision him that way if they're going to trade up for him.

Here is how I look at the depth chart.

    PG- Lillard, Napier, Quarterman

    SG- McCollum, Crabbe, Connaughton

    SF- Harkless, Turner, Aminu, Layman

PF- Vonleh, Swanigan, Collins, Davis, Leonard

    C- Nurkic

We only have one true center on the roster.

Agreed. And I'm also glad Terry isn't the kind of coach that sits players just because they're rookies.

They may be worried about Nurkic durability; I really got the impression that Olshey views Collins as the long term answer at center.
