Last week DFW outright called Brendan Schaub a liar for claiming he made over $100,000 per fight from his sponsors. Schaub appeared on the Joe Rogan podcast to validate his claim--both Rogan and Brian Callen were privy to Schaub's receipts and confirmed that he was telling the truth. The only issue is whether Schaub's "in-ring" sponsors accounted for all of the money or just most of it. Schaub's complaints about the Reebok deal costing him tens of thousands of dollars per fight drew White's ire likely out of frustration that the fighters have come out unanimously against the Reebok deal and brought a lot of heat on the UFC as a result.

DFW appeared on the Cruz Show to explain how fighters are misinterpreting the deal with Reebok, claiming they aren't losing their sponsors or their money; those sponsors just can't appear on their fight clothing, banners, or fight week attire anymore. The problem with White's latest attempt at salvaging the deal is that the sponsors are paying for exposure; or, rather, won't pay if they don't get their shit on TV or PPV. This is especially the case for clothing and gear companies who, due to taxes and now the exclusive Reebok deal, have been pushed out. While the UFC is in no way beholden to fighters to allow them to advertise on the UFC's airspace this has been the norm ever since DFW himself told the fighters to go out and get their money any way they could.
