<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced today that they have retained the services of one of the most promising young pivots in the CFL as quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie has agreed to terms on a new contract with the football club.

As per team policy, details of the agreement were not provided.

“Ryan is already familiar with our personnel and our coaching staff, so it was important for us to ensure he remain part of this organization,” said Bomber G.M. Brendan Taman.

“I think he proved last season that he has the skills and the mindset to be a CFL quarterback. The hope now is that he will continue to build on the poise and leadership skills he displayed last season, especially in the Grey Cup.”

Dinwiddie (6-1, 190, Boise State ’03, DOB: Nov. 27, 1980 in Elk Grove, Calif.) originally joined the Big Blue as a free agent on Aug. 18, 2006.

In 2007, he dressed for all 18 regular season games for the first time in his brief CFL career. Despite seeing limited playing time behind league Most Outstanding Player finalist Kevin Glenn, he still managed to complete 17-of-24 passes for 175 yards and a 70.8 passing completion percentage.

Dinwiddie got his first CFL start in the biggest game of the year when he replaced Glenn as the starting QB for the 2007 Grey Cup in Toronto. The second-year Bomber pivot out-dueled opposing QB and CFL Most Outstanding Player Kerry Joseph by completing 15-of-33 passes for 225 yards and one TD.</div>
